Gloves

Whether the weather is cold or hot, the rider must have their gloves on. The gloves will not only protect your hands (from blisters, for example) but will also provide a firm grip on the reins. If you're riding your horse, make sure your hands are protected. If you're riding in cold weather or if you need to grip the reins, then horse-riding gloves are perfect for you. It may seem easier just to use a pair of ordinary gloves, but these won't provide the grips or support that riding gloves will.

When choosing your riding gloves, you are faced with a variety of styles, and while fabrics ultimately come down to personal preference, there are certain things to consider. Even though leather gloves might seem like they would be the most durable and protective, they won't allow beginners to feel the reins right away. Instead, we suggest Lycra or spandex gloves, which would offer stretch and not act as a barrier. To maximize your riding experience, look for styles with rubber grip dots on the palm for extra safety.

Riding Pants/Breeches

Riding breeches are a pair of pants worn by riders when riding horses, made of a thin, snug fabric so the horse can feel the rider's movements. They are designed to prevent you from chafing while riding a horse. In addition, they help you maintain your grip on the horse because the fabric in strategic places enables you to stay on the horse.

As a bonus, your riding breeches are tailored to easily work with your horse riding boot, usually a tall boot that goes to the knee. You can make a contrast between riding pants like breeches and jodhpurs, which are meant to be worn with shorter paddock boots. Another minor difference between Jodhpurs and Breeches is that they have different cuffs. You can choose either one to wear when you ride for pleasure based on your preferences.
