Mother’s Walnut Cake

Ingredients
12 cup butter softened
12 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs room temperature
312 cups allpurpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
12 teaspoon salt
112 cups buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
112 cups ground walnuts
FROSTING
11 ounces cream cheese softened
34 cup butter softened
5 to 512 cups confectioners sugar
112 teaspoons vanilla extract
13 cup finely chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter shortening and granulated sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition. Combine flour baking soda and salt gradually add to creamed mixture
